Common Latvian Words That Can Save Your Life





Latvia has two official languages, Latvian and Russian, but most of the locals speak Latvian. If you are an international student from India, learning some basic Latvian words and phrases can help you communicate with locals during your studies. Here are some common words and phrases that you may find useful:

  2. Goodbye: Uz redzēšanos (ooz red-ze-shuh-nahs)

  3. Please: Lūdzu (loo-dzoo)

  4. Thank you: Paldies (puhl-dyes)

  5. Excuse me: Atvainojiet (aht-vah-noy-yet)
